With the Hayes Valley Proxy project quickly nearing, this weekend will see Chaac Mool spend a long weekend at Proxy, previewing its forthcoming Dolores Park trailer, pictured.
On Saturday from 11am to 8pm and Sunday-Monday from 12pm to 7pm, Chaac Mool will be at Linden and Octavia, offering a short menu of their signature Yucatecan fare. The menu will be simple and straightforward, not too different from Chaac Mool’s market stand:
Taco with Handmade Corn Tortilla (Cochinita Pibil,Vegetarian, Chicken “Relleno Negro”)
Nachos (Cochinita Pibil,Vegetarian, Chicken “Relleno Negro”)
Tamales “Brazo de Reina” (Vegetarian)
“Sope Soup” with Salad (Vegetarian guiso in sope “bowl”)
Aguas Frescas
Chaac Mool has been part of La Cocina’s incubator program since 2008, and makes appearances at Fort Mason on weekends and Off the Grid Market on Fridays. When it launches its trailer in Dolores Park (date still TBD), they’ll get the opportunity to sell seven days a week, which is hoped to be a springboard to a permanent location somewhere.
